Nicola is course director and is responsible for the organisation of the course and overseeing all the 'behind the scenes' work. Over the duration of the course, you will receive support and feedback regarding the progress with your learning from one of our highly qualified mentors.

Nicola Tunstall
My name is Nicola and I live in Cheshire with my husband and 3 children. I qualified with First Class Honours as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2002 and spent most of my 12 year Speech Therapy career working with with neurological conditions, particularly stroke patients experiencing communication or swallowing difficulties. I joined Mediterm in 2013 (a business set up in 2006 by my mother) and find the language of medical terminology fascinating! One of the favourite parts of my job is seeing the wonderful feedback we receive from students who have studied with us, we’re very proud of our wonderful reviews. I’m really excited to see Mediterm Training continue to develop as we embrace technological advances to support our learners.
Maddy
My name is Maddy Squires and I have been a mentor with Mediterm Training since 2012. I hold Level 2 Award and Level 3 Certificate qualifications in Medical Terminology, obtaining distinction at both Levels. I also hold the City and Guilds Further & Adult Education Teachers' Certificate Stage I and City and Guilds Initial Certificate in Teaching Basic Skills (Literacy).
I’m a ‘Yorkshire Lass’ but have moved to Gloucestershire to live closer to my son and his family.
I get great satisfaction from being able to help people who wish to improve their skill-set to advance their career progression or who just wish to make their job more interesting by understanding what passes over their desk.
Nancy
My name is Nancy and I live in the Stockport area with my husband. My background is in teaching and I have taught all
ages from young children to adults in a variety of situations including teaching children with learning difficulties,
children and adults whose first language was not English, in an international school abroad and teaching IT to sixth form students and adults.
I then changed direction and started to work in administration in a hospital for cancer patients
which is where I studied Level 2 and Level 3 Medical Terminology with Mediterm. I then moved onto working in a
general hospital. I was delighted later on when I was asked if I would like to join the business as a mentor and have
been with the team almost continually since 2014.
I have always found language interesting and medical language is no exception! Being a mentor allows me to encourage others who are learning and to share my enthusiasm with them.
Fiona
Hello, I'm Fiona and the newest mentor at Mediterm. I am a mother of many and developed a passion for medical terminology during covid when I studied all three courses with Nicola as part of my CPD requirements. I have a master's degree in clinical hypnotherapy and have a particular interest in trauma therapy and mental health. I became involved with Mediterm as I was particularly attracted to Nicola's supportive nature, keen eye for detail, enthusiasm, and professionalism, and missed being a student and had been wishing there was a level 4! When Nicola offered me the chance to be a mentor I was over the moon. I absolutely love being a mentor and seeing students blossom and grow in terms of their confidence and ability - especially those who have not studied for years or have struggled with dyslexia or other specific learning needs. When marking papers it is so rewarding to see the lightbulb moments where everything that has been learned about terminology has clicked into place.
